A Press Conference had been called today by Solidarity Initiative for the 300 migrant hunger strikers. (237 that have been on hunger strike in Athens since last month and 50 more who continue in Thessaloniki). Riot Police attacked the people of Solidarity Initiative, by pushing them away from the entrance of the Greek Parliament. The Press Conference finally took place in the street surrounded by Riot Police.
In This Press Conference, participated and talked several people expressing their solidarity to the rightfull struggle of the 300 migrants. People who are University Professors, writers, artists and representatives of trade unions of workers and doctors. Among them there were 3 members of the Greek parliament : Vasilis Moulopoulos, Tasos Kourakis (2nd representative of Greek Parliament), Thodoris Dritsas and and the mayor of Nea Ionia, Heracles Gotsis.
Till March 1st night, the 36th day of hunger strike, a total of 78 immigrants have been taken to hospital. (68 from the group of 237 that have been on hunger strike in Athens at Ypatia Megaron, and 10 from the group of 50 who continue in Thessaloniki).
