Tourists and locals visit the Acropolis Museum in Athens and enjoy free entrance as part of the celebrations on International Museum Day.
International Museum Day is an event established in 1977 by the International Council of Museums (ICOM) to increase public awareness of the role of museums in the development of society, and it has been steadily gaining momentum ever since.
