Solidarity groups and volunteers organized a new year's eve 2016 celebration for the refugees and the migrants who have left without shelter in the center of Athens. Amid low temperatures they gathered in Victoria Square where refugees without shelter spend the night out and they distributed warm clothes and food. The New Year 2016 arrived in a climate of solidarity while they shouted the slogan: "Open the borders" .

Ομάδες αλληλέγγυων και εθελοντών διοργάνωσαν γιορτή για τους πρόσφυγες και μετανάστες που έχουν μείνει χωρίς στέγη στο κέντρο της Αθήνας. Εν μέσω χαμηλών θερμοκρασιών συγκεντρώθηκαν στην πλατεία Βικτωρίας και έγινε διανομή ρούχων για το κρύο και ζεστού φαγητού από την κοινωνική κουζίνα "Ο Άλλος Άνθρωπος". Η αλλαγή της χρονιάς έγινε σε κλίμα συναδέλφωσης και αλληλεγγύης, ενώ φώναζαν το σύνθημα: "Ανοίξτε τα σύνορα".
