The witnesses of the attack, named Mohammad Navid and Habib Ulah, were in the home of Imam at the moment of the attack and Navid was injured. Police arrested both witnesses for other reason: Their migrant cards have expired and need renewal. The Movement "United Against Racism and the Fascist Threat" reports that it is a common practice of the Greek Police to deport witnesses. Thus the case will never take the path to justice and perpetrators will never get charged.
Friday prayers and others religious services of the Pakistani community are served on a privately owned underground place, which is used as a mosque. In Athens there is still no official mosque for Muslims.
It is also impressive that there has been no announcement condemning the attack on Imam's home, by other denominations or other faiths.
