Almost 500 Syrian people who live in Athens, demonstrated against Bashar al-Assad in the city center and in front of the Greek Parliament. Greece, 30th August 2011.
On the day of Eid Al-Fitr, the end of Ramadan for Muslims, demonstration started from Kotzia square, where the City Hall is, and passed from Omonoia square, Stadiou avenue , Syntagma Square, Greek Parliament, and ended near the Prime Minister's Hall, in Venizelou avenue.
Mighty and powerful slogans against Bashar al-Assad, dominated the rally.
The Syrian Community in Greece who organized the demonstration, delivered a resolution to the Greek Parliament and issued an announcement calling all Greek people to join their voices with them. Among others, the announcement says: "Your silence is killing the people and the young children of Syria" .
